I strive to make every effort possible ensuring you have a first-class experience with me, and all of my policies are first and foremost set with that goal in mind. If you have questions about any of my policies, I am more than happy to answer them. Feel free to contact me at any time.
Securing Your Date
All event bookings require a signed contract and 50% deposit in order to confirm and reserve your date. Please note that scheduling or attending a trial does not hold your date – your date will not be reserved until the deposit is cleared.
Payment Options
I accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, ATM), checks, and cash. Trial sessions must be paid in advance by credit card, or you may pay in cash up until the day of the session. My preferred payment method is via PayPal through the bookings system on this site.
Payment for trial sessions is expected in full no later than the day of service. Payment for event bookings is expected in full by the date on the final invoice. A late payment fee of 10% of the remaining balance will be added to your final invoice every 14 days past the due date until the invoice is paid in full.
Trials
Trials take place weekday evenings in my studio. If you prefer to schedule a trial without reserving your date with a deposit, I recommend scheduling it as soon as possible to increase the chances that your date is still available. Please note that scheduling or attending a trial does not reserve your date, as mentioned above.
I recommend that you bring a selection of looks that you are interested in to serve as inspiration for me and examples of what you would like. At least three photos is best, as a picture is worth a thousand words! Do keep in mind, though, that trials will be limited to one look applied and photographed. As a rule, I will only take direction from the primary client (i.e. attendees that might tag along will not guide my process or services). If you are interested in trialling multiple looks, you will need to schedule a separate trial session for each look.
Trial sessions are non-refundable. However, as noted on the rates page, the cost of a trial can be applied toward the deposit for a confirmed event booking.
Cancellations
If your booking is canceled at least four months prior to your reserved date, the deposit is refunded – less 5% for administrative/processing fees. If you wish to cancel your booking less than four months in advance, your deposit will be non-refundable. Please see below for information on modifying a booking after signing the contract and paying a deposit.
Service Finalizations / Modifications
Head counts and selected services will be confirmed in the contract at the time it is signed and your deposit is taken. If you wish to make changes to the number and types of services booked for your event, requests must be received by me at least 30 days prior to your event.
Changes to the contract that result in a reduced total cost will be subject to a 25% change fee if they are made within the four months prior to your event. Changes to the contract that result in an increase in scheduled services will be granted provided staffing is available. No changes will be permitted to a contract within the 7 days prior to your event, and payment in full for all booked services contained in the contract at that time will be expected.
On-Location Events (I come to you)
This service is included in all event bookings within 10 miles of my studio location (Burlingame, CA). For destination services and locations outside my local area, please inquire about a detailed quote, including my rates for travel and lodging. Depending on the distance from my studio, a minimum booking rate may apply. Additionally, accommodations will be required if the distance from my studio exceeds 60 miles and/or the start time is earlier than 6:00am.
My travel expenses are extremely competitive and reasonable – no limo service, first-class airfare, or five-star resort accommodations will be demanded!
Minimum Booking
During peak wedding season, from June 1 to October 31, there is a four-service minimum for Saturday bookings and a two-service minimum for Sunday bookings. (An example of two services is one bride for hair and makeup.)
Touch-Up Services
While I include a touch-up kit with all services, I also offer additional touch-up services to maintain your look perfectly throughout the day. The hourly rate for these services begins immediately after the original services are completed; covers travel, standby time, and touch-up services for the primary client (as noted in the contract); and ends at the time my services are completed (there are no split shifts for hourly services). Touch-ups include keeping your hair flawless in any weather condition (wind, rain, etc), and touching up your skin, lips, lashes, and eyes. For more than three hours or for touch-up services on more than just the primary client, please contact me to request a custom quote.
Style Changes
If you are interested in changing your hair or makeup after your first session (e.g. one look for a wedding ceremony and another for the reception) and one of my packages doesn’t already suit your needs, please let me know so I can prepare a competitive package for all looks.
Trial Photography
I will photograph your completed style at your trial session. These photos are added to your call sheet and will be e-mailed to you after your trial, usually within the hour.
Early Morning Events
Early morning events are billed at $25.00 per 15 minutes for start times before 8:00am.
Lateness
If you arrive late to your trial session or you are running late on the day of your event, your appointment will be subject to cancellation and/or late fees, depending on the length of the delay. Every 15 minutes that elapses past the original scheduled start time will be subject to a $15 fee. Late fees will be expected to be paid upon the completion of a trial session, or they will be added to the final invoice for an event booking.
